| I just watched X-Men Origins: Wolverine online tonight!!!! It doesn't come out till May 1,2009 officially, but someone released a not so quite finished version. Parts of the CGI effects weren't completely done, but it was A FREAKING AWESOME MOVIE still. I definitely want to see the finished version in May, but just the unfinished version was badass! You'll also want to stay till the very end of the credits!!!!

| Wow I haven't written on this thing in forever. It took me a while to find the button on where I can write a new blog. Anyways, here's the new teaser trailer to Half-Blood Prince.

| It seems that there is going be an American made Dragon Ball movie. Or is it Canadian made since it's going be filmed in Canada? Chow Yun Fat is going to be Master Roshi, Emmy Rossum (girl from Phantom of the Opera) as Bulma, James Marster (Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer) as the evil Piccolo, some chick named Jamie Chung as Chi-Chi who came from MTV's Real World and prolly better known as a Hooters girl from I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, and Justin Chatwin (wtf is this guy?) as Goku. So an unknown actor will play the lead role as Goku, but shouldn't he at least be Japanese? At least the original creator, Akira Toriyama is one of the writers so I'm hoping it won't turn out to be a disaster, but thats being really optimistic. Regardless, I'll still prolly end up watching it.

| So I just finished my first semester of nursing school yesterday. I've never worked and studied so much like this and it's only going to get worse next semester and so on, that is if I passed my classes. Is it worth it to trouble myself this much for nursing? Yeah I think it is. I think I'm finally beginning to find what I want to do in life. Helping people and getting paid for it. It's a lot of hard work, but knowing I am able to make a difference in someone's life is very gratifying. You can't say that to many other careers out there. One of my professors told our class that nurses have the honor of being there in 3 of the most important times of people's lives: when they are born, when they are greatly ill or injured, and when they are about to die.
This semester I was actually at the hospital working with patients and seeing what the nurse's role truly is.. It's a real shame that the public don't truly see what the nurses role is all about. To be more specific a Registered Nurse's (RN) role. They have a lot of autonomy. They aren't just there following doctor's order. They are there to be the patient's advocate. They are the ones who are watching the patients around the clock and knows the patient the best out of all the health care workers, while doctors and others only come in and out every so often to check on them.
I got to see a surgery, a body get bagged, give medications and shots, and yes even clean someone and give them a bath. I always hear negative comments from people about nurses like "ewww do you have to wipe their ass?". The answer is yes. Why? Because they can't do it themselves!!! You think they want others doing that to them if they are perfectly capable of doing it themselves?!! These people in the hospital are gravely ill, they can hardly feed themselves let alone clean their body. Nurses are there to give a helping hand, but also to educate them on how to take better care of themselves. As baby boomers are getting old, the need for nurses are greater than ever.So next time you have someone you know that is in the hospital, just remember it's the nurse that is always there for them and taking care of them. It's not the bloody fucking doctor who isn't watching them all the time and making sure they are eating properly and getting their medications on time. I'm not saying that doctors aren't important cause they are, but it always seems like they are the ones always getting the credit for the patient's care.
Anyways, I'm on break now and this winter break is really the only real big break I'll have cause beginning next semester, there aren't any more big breaks till the end of next december. I won't have summer off. I'll be at school and going to the hospital for clinicals so if any of you want to hang out and do something holler at me and hopefully it's something I can afford cause I am hella broke right now.
Happy Holidays to all.
----- edit: Just to clear things up RNs don't usually do perineal care (wiping the genital area and butt), but since I'm a nursing student I have to learn this as well =P. It's usually the CNA (clinical nursing assistant) or the NA (nursing assistant) that does that. RNs usually have 4 to 5 patients at a time so they dont have the time to be cleaning someone or giving baths because they always have to be looking at their other patients. Unless the RN is giving primary care, then they will do everything most likely.
